Michael Baumann

Michael Baumann has over 40 years of leadership and management experience in the U.S. Army, PreK-12 Public Education, and the private sector. Michael served 20 years active duty retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in October 2005.  He served in Army units in the United States, Europe, Korea, Panama, Saudi Arabia, Middle East, and a combat tour in Iraq (2004-2005). He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

From 2005 to present, Baumann has worked in preK-12 Public Education first in Saint Paul Public Schools and then in Lakeville Area Schools. He recently retired as the Superintendent of Schools for Lakeville Area Schools (ISD 194). Starting a third career, Baumann has taken on the role of Director of Operations for a commercial maintenance company servicing the Twin Cities metro area.  He lives with his family in Lakeville, Minnesota.

Baumann is the author of the book Adjust Fire: Transforming to Win in Iraq. Published 2008 by Birch Grove Publishing. Today, he is consulting on leadership and management with his company Out front Leadership Consulting LLC.
